Vacation In Egypt
Egypt Vacation
Any time you travel there are certain things you should always consider
before you go, however, when traveling abroad to a new country, this list of
things gets considerably longer. Not only do you have to worry about what
everyday items you will need once you arrive (underwear, socks etc.) , but you
also have to consider the conditions of the country in which you are traveling
and what you might need there that you wouldn’t at home.
Below is a list of questions to ask yourself before your trip abroad to make
sure you are fully prepared and that your trip will hold no unexpected
surprises.
What is the spoken language?
This is one of the most important questions you could ask yourself because if
you don’t know the language, then you could find yourself in a world of trouble
should you have an emergency once there. Find out what the common language is,
and if your language is widespread there as well. Some people also choose to
carry a small translation dictionary. Good words to know in the common tongue
are bathroom, hospital, and help.
What sort of medical care is available?
In some countries being admitted into the hospital may be more of a hindrance
than a help and you may need to leave the country in order to receive proper
medical attention. Talk to your health care provider before going, in order to
find out what shots or medicines you may need during the trip and have a plan of
action should you need to leave the country for a medical emergency. Make sure
that a friend or family member that is still in your home country has your
itinerary and could be contacted should an emergency arise.
What do I need in order to enter the country?
While a current passport is always required for international travel, many
countries also require a tourist VISA. Make sure to find out how to obtain any
necessary paperwork and how long it will take to be processed. Plan early as
some countries are very strict about people coming into and out of the country
and may require weeks or months to process your tourist VISA.
What is the currency?
Find out the common currency for the country into which you are traveling. It is
important to be well aware of the exchange rate so that you have plenty of money
once you arrive. Also, find out whether you can then re-exchange any unused
currency after your trip. Some banks and exchange bureaus will be happy to give
you foreign currency but will not give you the same exchange rate when you
return it. If this is the case, make sure not to exchange too much at the
beginning and to plan to exchange more as needed throughout your trip.
What is the time difference?
Knowing the time difference will not only help you to orient yourself once
arriving at your destination, but will also help during the planning of your
trip so you can allow for jet lag. If there is a ten hour time difference you
probably don’t want to plan on seeing ten things your first day, and you may
want to return at least a day before having to start work again so you have some
time to readjust to the time change.
